The UNI-SET consortium has launched a call for contributions for the 2nd UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event (ECE) to be held at the Politecnico di Torino in Italy from 26 to 28 September 2016. The organisers are welcoming proposals in the form of good practice examples and project ideas and proposals for several parallel sessions based on the event themes of energy efficiency and nuclear safety.
Around 100 participants from 22 countries gathered in Trondheim, Norway from 24 to 26 February 2016 to take part in the 1st UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event. Entitled "Human resources and new knowledge to build the future energy system", the event took place at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). It was jointly organised by the UNI-SET team at EUA, KU Leuven and NTNU. This was the first of the five Energy Clustering Events (ECEs) scheduled in 2016 and 2017 to discuss and stimulate cooperation for the development of innovative research and education programmes in the energy field.
UNI-SET has coordinated the response of the European Platform of Universities in Energy Research & Education (EUA-EPUE) to the consultative process launched by the European Commission on the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), providing the perspective of the university community on the Key Actions outlined in the SET-Plan Communication of September 2015 (C(2015)6317).
